Silence

Silence

I am grateful for the silence of a quiet sky. Walking on a lonely beach at the end of the day, my bucket full of conversations, annoyances, alarms and horns, how soothing it is to be blanketed with emptiness. The wind engulfs me in its smooth whispers. A pelican rides the invisible wave of a thermal. The sun barrels forth and away from me. As my wobbly strides navigate the soft sandy terrain, the excruciating minutiae dissolves and simplicity returns.
